3rd September 2024 was a historical day for ACE Logistics Lithuania, as the long-term director Ignas Puluikis handed the reins of the company over to Juana Kudarauskienė. This month will mark an important milestone, as Juana celebrates 150 days as the new Managing Director. To commemorate this achievement, we would like to introduce Juana to our readers by asking her some questions about her professional and private life.
Please tell us a little bit about yourself
I have over 17 years of experience in the logistics industry. My journey began while studying Economics at Vilnius University, where I started working in a logistics company at the same time. This early combination of education and hands-on experience set the foundation for my career. Most of my professional life has been focused on leading road freight operations, specializing in groupage and part-load services. This extensive background has equipped me with deep insights into the complexities of logistics and the ability to manage operations effectively.
I pride myself on being straightforward and transparent, always keeping my word. These qualities foster trust with my team and clients, enabling me to respond quickly to challenges and make sound decisions that drive success in our operations.
How did you find your way to ACE?
My journey to ACE was guided by my appreciation for Nordic values – cooperative, egalitarian, and practical. These principles resonate deeply with me, as they emphasize working together, fostering fairness, and focusing on meaningful contributions without excess. When I discovered these values reflected within ACE, I knew it was an organization where I could belong and thrive.
Joining ACE is more than just a career move for me – it’s an opportunity to align my professional expertise with a culture that values purpose – driven growth and teamwork.
What do you consider your most important achievement in these 150 days?
In these first 150 days, my most important achievement has been successfully integrating into the ACE team and getting to know both my colleagues and key customers. Building relationships and understanding our operations has been essential for fostering trust and collaboration, which are vital for achieving our shared goals.
Currently, we are building a new terminal, which is a significant step in strengthening our position in the market. This ambitious project requires a solid foundation of collaboration, strategic planning, and operational excellence. I see myself as a key contributor in supporting ACE’s growth and helping to expand our operations to meet these new challenges.
I’ve also focused on gaining a deep understanding of our logistics services and identifying areas to improve efficiency and communication. Moreover, I’ve worked on strengthening cross-department co-operation, particularly as we move forward with the terminal project. Contributing to this significant growth opportunity has been rewarding, and I’m eager to continue supporting ACE in achieving its long-term goals.
What inspires you?
What inspires me the most are people who show genuine effort and care to do their best, supporting one another along the way. I admire individuals who are committed to continuous improvement, whether in their personal lives or professional careers. Their dedication and work ethic are powerful reminders of the impact we can have when we give our all to something we believe in.
I’m also inspired by teamwork and collaboration. There’s something motivating about being part of a group where people lift each other up, share knowledge, and work towards a common goal. This sense of mutual support drives me to bring my best to the team and contribute to a positive and productive environment.
Above all, I’m inspired by those who face challenges with resilience and determination. People who are willing to learn from their experiences and adapt in the face of adversity encourage me to stay focused on growth, no matter what obstacles may come my way.
What is your philosophy towards management and life?
My philosophy towards management and life is rooted in collaboration, transparency, and continuous growth. In management, I believe in fostering an environment where open communication and mutual respect are prioritized. I empower my team by allowing them to take ownership of their work, which helps build trust and accountability. At the same time, I focus on making decisions with clarity and decisiveness while encouraging others to act with confidence and responsibility.
In life, I believe in maintaining a balance between professional goals and personal well-being. A healthy body and mind are essential for success, and I value resilience, adaptability, and a positive attitude when facing challenges. Integrity is at the core of my interactions – being genuine, keeping my word, and treating others with respect are principles I hold dear. Above all, I try to approach both life and work with gratitude, seeing every experience as an opportunity for growth.
What do you like to do in your free time?
Outside of work, I find balance and inspiration in the mountains. As a climber, I’m passionate about high-altitude adventures and the adrenaline of exposed climbs. These challenges teach me resilience, adaptability, and the importance of preparation – skills that directly enhance my professional life.
I’m also a runner, which helps me maintain a clear mind and a steady routine. Running reinforces my focus, balance, and ability to tackle long-term goals, all of which are essential in managing the dynamic demands of logistics.
What was the last book you read?
While I’m a fan of detective novels, the last book I read that truly stood out was The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah. This deeply moving historical fiction novel tells the story of two sisters, Vianne and Isabelle, who are navigating the hardships of World War II in Nazi-occupied France. What I found most compelling was the resilience and strength of the characters, as they faced unimaginable challenges during such a dark period of history. The book beautifully explores themes of survival, sacrifice, and the often unspoken bravery of women in wartime. It’s a poignant reminder of the impact that courage and love can have, even in the most dire circumstances.
